A Historic Tribute to Mothers

Sikkim has steadily distinguished itself as a state in introducing people-centric policies that leave a direct and lasting impact on its people. Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), women have witnessed greater participation in governance, politics, sports and community leadership.

Among the many initiatives introduced for women's welfare, the respect and reverence accorded to mothers remains one of the most heartfelt. This vision gave birth to AAMA Samman Diwas, a historic statewide celebration dedicated entirely to mothers.

A Lasting Tribute to Mothers

AAMA Samman Diwas is far more than an annual celebration. It represents Sikkim's enduring commitment to honouring mothers, recognising their sacrifices and strengthening their dignity through meaningful welfare initiatives.

By dedicating his own day of liberation to the mothers of Sikkim, Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) has transformed a personal milestone into a symbol of compassion, gratitude and inclusive governance.

"AAMA Samman Diwas stands as a living reminder that governance becomes truly meaningful when it honours the people who nurture families, communities and future generations."
